Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of Survivin only when phosphorylated at Threonine 117.

Target Information

Survivin (IAP4) is the smallest member of the Inhibitors of Apoptosis Protein (IAP) family. These proteins are involved in cell signaling, cell division, and metabolism, and are differentially expressed in most human cancers but not in normal tissues. Survivin contains a single BIR domain and lacks a C-terminal RING finger domain. Expression is high during fetal development and in tumors, but low in adult tissues.

Survivin is expressed in the G2/M phase of the cell cycle and associates with mitotic spindle microtubules. Disruption of this interaction increases caspase-3 activity and apoptosis during mitosis. It is also expressed in brain tissues following traumatic injury, potentially influencing neural cell proliferation. Multiple transcript variants exist for this gene, with at least three fully characterized.

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
