Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

Autophagy related protein 16L (ATG16L1) is encoded by the ATG16L gene located on chromosome 2 in humans. It is also known as WD30 or IBD10 (Inflammatory Bowel Disease 10).

ATG12 and ATG5 conjugate and oligomerize with ATG16L to form the Atg16L complex (~800 kDa). This complex facilitates the coupling or lipidation of LC3 to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), a key step in autophagy. The ATG16L complex, along with other ATGs such as ATG18 and ATG21, prevents premature cleavage of ATG8-PE by the cysteine protease Atg4 until autophagosome maturation is complete.
