The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
CYP21A2 is a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. These proteins are monooxygenases that catalyze reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids. CYP21A2 localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and hydroxylates steroids at the 21 position. Its activity is essential for the synthesis of steroid hormones such as cortisol and aldosterone. Mutations in the CYP21A2 gene cause congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
