This VIM8 antibody reacts with the desialylated asialoganglioside of human CD65.
CD65 is a type 2 fucosylated carbohydrate antigen expressed on all myeloid cells during development. It is highly expressed on granulocytes and weakly on monocytes in peripheral blood. CD65 acts as a ligand for CD62E (E-Selectin).

The sialylated form, CD65s, serves as a marker for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), with expression increasing as CD34 decreases. CD65 is also important for extravascular infiltration of AML cells.

Target Information

CD65 is a fucosylated carbohydrate antigen found on developing myeloid cells.
It is highly expressed on granulocytes and weakly on monocytes.
CD65 interacts with CD62E (E-Selectin) and its sialylated form (CD65s) is a useful marker for AML progression.
It plays a key role in the extravascular infiltration of AML cells.
