This G10F5 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD66b, a granulocyte-specific activation antigen. CD66b is expressed on neutrophils and eosinophils and is upregulated upon stimulation. This glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol-linked receptor regulates neutrophil activation and adhesion to fibronectin, galectin-3, and E-selectin.

Target Information

The CD66b gene encodes a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family, part of the immunoglobulin superfamily. This family includes CEA cell adhesion molecules and pregnancy-specific glycoproteins located on chromosome 19. CD66b was first identified in bile ducts and later found on leukocytes, epithelia, and endothelia, mediating cell-cell adhesion through homophilic and heterophilic interactions.
