Target Information
PUF60 encodes a protein that binds to Ro RNPs, potentially conferring gain-of-function effects. It forms a ternary complex with the far upstream element (FUSE) and FUSE-binding protein, repressing c-myc reporter activity via FUSE. Additionally, PUF60 targets transcription factor IIH to inhibit activated transcription. This gene is implicated in xeroderma pigmentosum and has two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms, with evidence of multiple polyadenylation sites.
