Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Desmoglein 3 (Dsg3), also known as Cadherin family member 6 (CDHF6), is a desmosomal cadherin that plays a critical role in cell–cell adhesion. It is predominantly expressed in stratified squamous epithelium, including skin, oral mucosa, and esophagus. Dsg3 is known as the autoantigen of pemphigus vulgaris (PV), a severe autoimmune disease. Binding of anti-Dsg3 autoantibodies disrupts cell adhesion, leading to blister formation on the skin and oral mucosa, and histologically to suprabasilar acantholysis.
