Product Specific Information

This antibody recognizes phosphorylated intracellular tyrosine 142 of CD3 zeta chain (CD247), which is a component of the TCR/CD3 complex expressed on T cells.

Target Information

The CD3z complex is crucial in transducing antigen-recognition signals into the cytoplasm of T cells and regulating the surface expression of the TCR complex.
T cell activation through the antigen receptor (TCR) involves the cytoplasmic tails of CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta). These subunits, part of the immunoglobulin superfamily, are encoded by closely linked genes on human chromosome 11.
CD3 components have long cytoplasmic tails that associate with signal transduction molecules via a double tyrosine-based motif.
CD3 is expressed on 68–82% of normal peripheral blood lymphocytes, 65–85% of thymocytes, and Purkinje cells in the cerebellum, but not on B or NK cells.
Decreased T lymphocyte percentages may occur in certain autoimmune diseases.
Diseases associated with CD3z include Immunodeficiency 25 and T-B+ Severe Combined Immunodeficiency due to CD3δ/ε/ζ defects.
