Target Information
Raf-1 (c-Raf) is a MAP kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K) functioning downstream of Ras family GTPases. Upon activation, Raf-1 phosphorylates and activates MEK1/2, which subsequently activate ERK1/2. Activated ERKs regulate gene expression involved in cell cycle, apoptosis, differentiation, and migration. Mutations in this gene are associated with Noonan syndrome 5 and LEOPARD syndrome 2.
