Target Information
DAPK2 (Death-associated protein kinase 2) is a calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase that acts as a positive regulator of apoptosis and is expressed in many tissue types.
It encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase containing an N-terminal kinase domain and a conserved calmodulin-binding domain similar to DAPK1, a known regulator of programmed cell death.
Overexpression of DAPK2 induces apoptosis, and the gene utilizes multiple polyadenylation sites.
