Target Information
Leptin (OB-R) receptor는 cytokine receptor superfamily의 일원으로, 포유류의 체중 항상성과 에너지 균형 유지에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 지방 조직에서 분비되는 호르몬 leptin에 의해 활성화되며, Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) 경로를 통해 신호 전달을 유도합니다.
OB-R은 다양한 길이와 신호 전달 능력을 가진 여러 isoform을 가지며, 특히 hypothalamus와 choroid plexus에서 발현되는 장형(long form)이 포만감 및 에너지 소비 조절에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
OB-R(db) 또는 leptin(ob) 유전자 돌연변이는 조기 비만을 유발하며, 이와 관련된 대사 이상에는 hypercorticoidemia, hyperinsulinemia, insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, 중추신경계 활동 저하, 갈색 지방의 대사율 감소, 백색 지방 증가 등이 포함됩니다.
