Product Specific Information
- Tested in direct ELISA (Use antibody at 2–4 µg/mL for coating).
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Galectin-1 belongs to a large family of carbohydrate-binding proteins called lectins. It can exist as a monomer or homodimer and is found in various cells and tissues. Galectin-1 regulates cell growth and proliferation, induces apoptosis in activated T cells, and modulates cytokine secretion by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokine production. It plays an important role in both acute and chronic inflammation.
