This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human UBC13.
PEP-0198 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20080.
Target Information
The UBE2V1-UBE2N and UBE2V2-UBE2N heterodimers catalyze the synthesis of non-canonical Lys-63-linked polyubiquitin chains. This type of polyubiquitination does not lead to protein degradation by the proteasome. Mediates transcriptional activation of target genes and plays a role in the control of the cell cycle and differentiation. It is involved in error-free DNA repair and contributes to cell survival after DNA damage.
Acts together with E3 ligases HLTF and SHPRH in the Lys-63-linked poly-ubiquitination of PCNA upon genotoxic stress, required for DNA repair. Also acts with E3 ligase RNF5 in the Lys-63-linked polyubiquitination of JKAMP, regulating its function by decreasing its association with proteasome and ERAD components.
Promotes TRIM5 capsid-specific restriction activity and, together with TRIM5, generates Lys-63-linked polyubiquitin chains that activate the MAP3K7/TAK1 complex, leading to NF-kappa-B and MAPK-responsive inflammatory gene expression.
Together with RNF135 and UB2V1, catalyzes viral RNA-dependent Lys-63-linked polyubiquitination of RIG-I/DDX58, activating the interferon beta production pathway. UBE2V1-UBE2N, along with TRAF3IP2 E3 ubiquitin ligase, mediates Lys-63-linked polyubiquitination of TRAF6, a component of the IL17A-mediated signaling pathway.
