Target Information
Sphingomyelin Synthase 1은 phosphatidylcholine (PC)과 ceramide를 sphingomyelin (SM) 및 diacylglycerol (DAG)로 전환하는 양방향성 lipid cholinephosphotransferase입니다. 반응 방향은 DAG와 ceramide의 상대 농도에 따라 달라집니다. 기질의 choline head group을 직접 인식하며, 효율적인 인식을 위해 choline-P donor 분자에 두 개의 fatty chain이 필요합니다. SM synthase로만 기능하지 않을 수도 있으며, 박테리아 PC-phospholipase C inhibitor D609에 의해 억제됩니다. 주로 Golgi apparatus 및 Golgi membrane에 위치한 multi-pass membrane protein이며, 뇌, 심장, 신장, 간, 근육, 위 등에서 발현될 수 있습니다.
