Ankyrin-G는 뇌를 포함한 여러 조직에서 발견되며, 조직 특이적 RNA 가공으로 인해 두 가지 이소폼 형태로 발현됩니다. 이 단백질은 축삭 초기 구간과 Ranvier 결절에 국한되어 있으며, 상피 세포 간 접촉 부위 및 일부 세포의 세포내 막에서도 발견됩니다. Ankyrin-G 이소폼은 구형 헤드 도메인 뒤에 세린 및 트레오닌 잔기가 풍부한 서열을 포함하고 있습니다. Ankyrin-G는 이온 채널 및 세포 부착 분자의 위치 유지 및 표적화에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
