Specificity: This antibody is specific for the murine interleukin-2 receptor beta chain.
Target Information
CD122 (Interleukin 2 receptor) is involved in T cell-mediated immune responses, primarily expressed in the hematopoietic system and exists in three forms:
- Low affinity form: Monomer of the alpha subunit, not involved in signal transduction.
- Intermediate affinity form: Alpha/beta heterodimer.
- High affinity form: Alpha/beta/gamma heterotrimer.
Both intermediate and high affinity forms participate in receptor-mediated endocytosis and mitogenic signal transduction. The CD122 gene encodes the beta subunit, a type I membrane protein. Dysfunction of CD122 is associated with oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and rheumatoid factor negative juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
