Specificity: This antibody is specific for the murine interleukin-2 receptor beta chain.
Target Information
CD122 (Interleukin 2 receptor) is involved in T cell-mediated immune responses and is primarily expressed in the hematopoietic system. It exists in three forms:
- Low affinity form: Monomer of the alpha subunit, not involved in signal transduction
- Intermediate affinity form: Alpha/beta heterodimer
- High affinity form: Alpha/beta/gamma heterotrimer
Both intermediate and high affinity forms are involved in receptor-mediated endocytosis and mitogenic signal transduction.
The CD122 gene encodes the beta subunit, a type I membrane protein.
Dysfunction of CD122 protein is associated with oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and rheumatoid factor negative juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
