APLNR (Apelin Receptor)는 G 단백질 결합 수용체 유전자 계열에 속하며, angiotensin receptor와 유사하지만 apelin receptor로서 adenylate cyclase 활성을 억제하고 angiotensin II의 혈압 상승 작용에 대해 상반된 조절 역할을 수행합니다.
이 수용체는 심혈관계 및 중추신경계 기능, 포도당 대사, 배아 및 종양 혈관신생, 그리고 HIV-1 coreceptor로서의 기능에 관여합니다.
Alternative splicing에 의해 두 가지 전사 변이가 보고되었습니다.
