This peptide corresponds to 12 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human NALP2.
PEP-0348 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20213.
Target Information
NALP2 belongs to a family of cytoplasmic proteins involved in cellular responses to apoptotic and inflammatory stimuli.
Unlike the prototypical NALP protein NALP1, NALP2 contains a NACHT domain, leucine-rich repeat (LRR), and pyrin-containing domain (PYD).
It interacts with adapter proteins ASC, CARD8, and caspase-1 to form an inflammasome with high proIL-1-b-processing activity.
NALP2 functions as a modulator of NF-kappa-B and procaspase-1 activation in macrophages.
It may act as an innate sensor of pathogens similar to toll-like receptors (TLRs).
At least two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for NALP2.
