- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45580 detects mGluR1/5 glutamate receptor in 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate by colorimetric immunoblot using goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 130 kDa (both mGluR1 and mGluR5).
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S75-3.

mGluR5 may play a role in synaptic transmission and may interact with mGluR1, another group I metabotropic glutamate receptor.
