Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2. Anti-Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing immobilized Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2 (500-P195Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2.
Western Blot:
To detect Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human/Murine/Rat BMP-2 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Target Information
Bone Morphogenic Proteins (BMPs) are members of the TGF-beta superfamily that influence bone and cartilage formation. Mature BMPs are 30–38 kDa proteins with a TGF-beta-like cysteine knot structure. BMPs stimulate bone matrix protein production and influence stromal cell and osteoclast proliferation. They also play roles in cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, and morphogenesis. BMPs bind to type II receptors, recruiting type I receptors to activate the Smad signaling pathway.
