Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human BMP-2. Anti-Human BMP-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect hBMP-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human BMP-2 (500-P195) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant hBMP-2.

Western Blot:
To detect Human BMP-2 by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 mg/mL. Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human BMP-2 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Bone Morphogenic Proteins (BMP) are members of the TGF-beta superfamily involved in bone and cartilage formation. Mature BMPs are 30–38 kDa proteins forming a TGF-beta-like cysteine knot structure. BMPs regulate bone matrix protein production and influence stromal cell and osteoclast proliferation. They also play roles in organ development, cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, and morphogenesis. BMPs bind to type II receptors, which recruit type I receptors to activate the Smad signaling pathway.
