Product Specific Information
Carrier-Free
Reconstitution: Centrifuge the vial briefly, before opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile, distilled water, to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL (Do not vortex) and store at 2-8°C for up to 1 week. Make any further dilutions of the reconstituted protein in buffer containing carrier protein, such as 0.1% BSA, and apportion into working aliquots to store at -20°C to -80°C.
Storage: The lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 1 month. Store the lyophilized protein at -20°C to -80°C,preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2-8°C. Working aliquots stored with a carrier protein are stable for at least 7 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Target Information
The bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a family of secreted signaling molecules that can induce ectopic bone growth. Many BMPs are part of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGFB) superfamily. BMPs were originally identified by an ability of demineralized bone extract to induce endochondral osteogenesis in vivo in an extra skeletal site. Based on its expression early in embryogenesis, BMP7 has a proposed role in early development. In addition, the fact that BMP7 is closely related to BMP5 and BMP6 has lead to speculation of possible bone inductive activity.
