- The peptide shares 95% identity with rat and mouse sequences.

Target Information
Inward rectifier potassium channels allow potassium to flow preferentially into the cell. Their voltage dependence is influenced by extracellular potassium concentration. Inward rectification results mainly from blockage of outward current by internal magnesium.
KCNJ13 exhibits low single-channel conductance, low sensitivity to external barium and cesium, and its inward rectification properties are independent of internal magnesium.
