This antibody recognizes canine CD107b, also known as lysosome-associated membrane protein 2 (LAMP-2).
Target Information
LAMP2 (Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 2, CD107b) belongs to a family of membrane glycoproteins. It provides selectins with carbohydrate ligands and may play roles in tumor metastasis, lysosomal maintenance, and adhesion.
Prior to posttranslational modification, LAMP2 is a ~46 kDa polypeptide; the mature form is extensively glycosylated, with a molecular weight of 100–130 kDa.
LAMP2 consists of a large intra-lysosomal domain, a hydrophobic transmembrane domain, and a short cytoplasmic tail. It is a marker for chaperone-mediated autophagy.
Three variants exist: LAMP-2A, LAMP-2B, and LAMP-2C. Together with CD107a/LAMP-1, LAMP2 is a major lysosomal membrane component essential for lysosome-phagosome fusion and phagosomal maturation.
Deficiency of LAMP2 leads to accumulation of autophagosomes and is associated with Danon’s disease (cardiomyopathy and myopathy).
