Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
SQLE, also known as ERG1, SE, and SM, belongs to the squalene monooxygenase family. It catalyzes the first oxygenation step in cholesterol synthesis, acting on squalene before cyclization into the basic steroid structure. SQLE may serve as a flux-controlling enzyme beyond 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMGR), which is considered rate-limiting. SQLE is post-translationally regulated by cholesterol-dependent proteasomal degradation. The molecular weight of SQLE is approximately 64 kDa.
