Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The protein encoded by the MYT1 gene is a neural-specific, zinc finger-containing DNA-binding protein. This kinase preferentially phosphorylates and inactivates CDC2, thereby negatively regulating the G2/M transition of the cell cycle. It remains membrane-associated throughout the cell cycle, and its activity is tightly regulated by kinases such as AKT1/PKB and PLK. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified. MYT1 binds to promoter regions of proteolipid proteins in the central nervous system and plays a key role in neural development.
