Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Mesothelin was originally identified as a differentiation antigen of mesotheliomas, ovarian cystadenocarcinomas, and pancreatic adenocarcinomas. It is a GPI-anchored, cell-surface glycoprotein secreted by mesothelial cells.
While normally expressed at low levels in pleural, pericardial, and peritoneal membranes, its aberrant overexpression has been observed in various cancers, including endometrioid uterine adenocarcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas of the esophagus, stomach, lung, and cervix.

Proteolytic cleavage of Mesothelin produces a soluble fragment known as megakaryocyte potentiating factor (MPF), which can stimulate megakaryocyte colony formation in murine bone marrow cultures.
Both Mesothelin and MPF are implicated in tumorigenesis, promoting tumor cell proliferation, migration, anchorage-independent growth, and metastasis.
