Product Specific Information
The TM-b1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD122, the 90–110 kDa interleukin-2 receptor beta chain (IL-2Rβ). CD122 is expressed by NK cells and some T cells, and is upregulated upon activation. It associates with CD25 and CD132 (common gamma chain) to form the high-affinity IL-2 receptor. Binding of IL-2 to its receptor is inhibited by TM-b1 antibody.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis, cytokine neutralization, and immunoprecipitation.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes at ≤0.5 µg/test (in 100 µL final volume). Optimal antibody titration recommended.

Target Information
CD122 (Interleukin-2 receptor beta chain) is involved in T cell-mediated immune responses and is primarily expressed in the hematopoietic system. It exists in three affinity forms:
- Low affinity: alpha subunit monomer (no signal transduction)
- Intermediate affinity: alpha/beta heterodimer
- High affinity: alpha/beta/gamma heterotrimer
The intermediate and high affinity forms mediate receptor endocytosis and mitogenic signaling. The CD122 gene encodes the beta subunit, a type I membrane protein. Dysfunction in CD122 is associated with oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and rheumatoid factor-negative juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
