Target Information
Alpha2-HS glycoprotein (AHSG), also known as Fetuin A, is a glycoprotein synthesized by hepatocytes and present in serum. The AHSG molecule consists of two polypeptide chains cleaved from a single proprotein encoded by one mRNA.
It is involved in endocytosis, brain development, and bone tissue formation. AHSG is found in the cortical plate of the immature cerebral cortex and bone marrow hematopoietic matrix, suggesting a role in tissue development, although its exact function remains unclear.
