Product Specific Information
This antibody specifically recognizes human LXR alpha and cross-reacts with mouse and rat LXR alpha. It does not recognize human LXR beta.
Target Information
NR1H3 (oxysterols receptor LXR-alpha) is a nuclear receptor exhibiting ligand-dependent transcriptional activation. Its interaction with retinoic acid receptor (RXR) converts RXR from a silent DNA-binding partner to an active ligand-binding subunit, mediating retinoid responses through LXRES—DR4-type response elements with two hexanucleotide half-sites spaced by four nucleotides.
NR1H3 is crucial for cholesterol homeostasis, regulating uptake via MYLIP-dependent ubiquitination of LDLR, VLDLR, and LRP8, and functionally interacts with RORA to regulate genes involved in liver metabolism.
