Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse Serpin B8 is observed.
- Less than 2% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Serpin B6, Serpin B9, and Serpin A5 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
The superfamily of high molecular weight serine proteinase inhibitors includes Protease inhibitor-8 (PI8; SERPINB8), a member of the ov-serpin subfamily.
Compared to the archetypal serpin PI1 (MIM 107400), SERPINB8 shows:
- High homology to chicken ovalbumin
- Lack of N- and C-terminal extensions
- Absence of a signal peptide
- Presence of a serine residue instead of asparagine at the penultimate position
