Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. Purity is >95% by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Potassium channels are present in most mammalian cells, where they participate in a wide range of physiological responses.
KCNJ16 encodes an integral membrane protein functioning as an inward-rectifier type potassium channel, which preferentially allows potassium to flow into a cell.
It can form heterodimers with other inward-rectifier type potassium channels and may be involved in the regulation of fluid and pH balance.
Three transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified for this gene.
