Target Information
Desmoglein 3 (Dsg3), also known as Cadherin family member 6 (CDHF6), is a desmosomal cadherin family protein critical for cell-cell adhesion. It is mainly expressed in stratified squamous epithelium such as skin, oral mucosa, and esophagus. Desmoglein 3 is identified as the autoantigen of pemphigus vulgaris (PV), an autoimmune disease causing blister formation due to loss of cell adhesion.
