Target Information
Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with other core histones, it forms the nucleosome structure that organizes DNA. Histones are essential for transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translational modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation of the N-terminal tail of histone H3 influence chromatin structure and gene expression.
