This antibody detects endogenous levels of ASK1 only when phosphorylated at Serine 966.
Target Information
MAP3K5 (ASK1) is a serine/threonine kinase abundantly expressed in human heart and pancreas. It is activated by extracellular stimuli such as cytokines, growth factors, and environmental stresses. ASK1 activates MKK4 and MKK6, which in turn activate JNK and p38 MAP kinases. ASK1/MAPKKK5 interacts with TRAF family members and Daxx to mediate TNFR and Fas signaling pathways. Overexpression induces apoptosis, while inactive ASK1 inhibits TNF-α-induced apoptosis. ASK1 is expressed in various human and mouse tissues.
