Product Specific Information
Specificity: Recognizes human CD52 antigen (CAMPATH-1). CD52 is expressed at high density by lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophils, thymocytes, and macrophages. It is expressed by most lymphoid-derived malignancies, although expression on myeloma cells is variable.
Target Information
CD52 (CAMPATH-1 antigen) is a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of immune cells including T and B lymphocytes, natural killer cells, and monocytes. It regulates immune responses and is studied as a therapeutic target in diseases such as multiple sclerosis, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and autoimmune disorders. CD52 is the target of alemtuzumab, a monoclonal antibody that depletes CD52-expressing immune cells.
