Description:
The 5-329 monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD74 (MHC Class II-associated invariant chain), a 33–43 kDa type II membrane protein. CD74 is expressed on B cells, activated T cells, dendritic cells, epithelial cells, and to a lesser extent, monocytes and macrophages. It functions as a chaperone for MHC Class II proteins, facilitating antigen presentation. CD74 interacts with CD44 and MIF, activating NFκB and ERK pathways, and contributes to B-cell maturation and marginal zone B-cell accumulation. It also interacts with CXCR2 and CXCR4.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometric analysis of human peripheral blood cells. Recommended use: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL.

Target Information

HLA-DR is a transmembrane glycoprotein consisting of a 36 kDa alpha chain (DRA) and a 27 kDa beta chain (DRB). The DRA gene encodes the leader peptide, extracellular domains, transmembrane domain, and cytoplasmic tail. The DRB chain contains polymorphisms determining peptide-binding specificity. HLA-DR is expressed on antigen-presenting cells such as B lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, thymic epithelial cells, and activated T lymphocytes. MHC class II molecules (DR, DQ, DP) bind processed peptides and present them to T-helper cells, initiating immune responses.
