Target Information
Nucleoporin NUP35 (Mitotic phosphoprotein 44) is a nuclear protein located at the nuclear pore complex, tightly associated with the nuclear membrane and lamina. It belongs to the Nup53 family and contains an MPPN (mitotic phosphoprotein N-terminal) domain. NUP35 has scattered phenylalanine-glycine repeats but lacks large FG domains found in other nucleoporins. It may function as a structural component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) and as a docking partner for nuclear transport factors. NUP35 may also interact with MAD1, a transcriptional repressor, and is widely expressed in most tissues.
