This antibody detects endogenous levels of total THOC5 protein.
Target Information
THOC5 is a component of the THO subcomplex within the TREX complex, which associates specifically with spliced mRNA. The TREX complex is recruited to mRNA in a splicing- and cap-dependent manner and plays a critical role in mRNA export. THOC5, in conjunction with THOC4, participates in NXF1-NXT1 mediated nuclear export of HSP70 mRNA and may be involved in granulocyte and adipocyte differentiation. The TREX complex is also essential for the export of Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) intronless mRNAs and infectious virus production.
