Product Specific Information
The 2D1 monoclonal antibody reacts with all isoforms of human CD45 (Leukocyte Common Antigen, LCA). CD45 is expressed by all hematopoietic cells except circulating erythrocytes and platelets. Its cytoplasmic domain has tyrosine phosphatase activity, playing a key role in lymphocyte activation.

Target Information
CD45 (LCA) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising ~10% of lymphocyte surface proteins. Absent in non-hematopoietic tissues, CD45 regulates Src-family kinases, T/B-cell receptor signaling, and cytokine receptor pathways. Isoforms arise via alternative splicing and differ by extracellular domain composition. CD45 is critical for lymphocyte development, activation, and survival.
