Target Information

In vertebrates, homeobox genes encode a class of transcription factors found in clusters (A, B, C, D) on four separate chromosomes. Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development.
The HOXA3 gene, part of the A cluster on chromosome 7, encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor that may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation.
