Target Information
AOX1 (Aldehyde oxidase 1)는 세포질 내 1338 아미노산으로 구성된 단백질로, 다양한 알데하이드를 산화시켜 과산화수소를 생성합니다. 특정 조건에서 초과산화 자유 라디칼을 형성할 수 있으며, 산소 라디칼 대사 이상은 근위축성 측삭경화증(ALS)과 관련이 있습니다. AOX1은 척수 복각에 고도로 발현되며, ALS2와 연관된 염색체 영역에 위치한 유전자로 알려져 있습니다. 따라서 AOX1은 ALS2의 후보 유전자로 제시됩니다.
