Target Information
Tau는 신경세포 축삭에서 주로 발견되는 미세소관 결합 단백질로, 튜불린 중합을 촉진하고 미세소관을 안정화시키는 역할을 합니다.
C-말단은 축삭 미세소관에 결합하고, N-말단은 신경 세포막 성분과 결합하여 두 구조를 연결하는 역할을 합니다.
Tau의 과인산화 형태는 Alzheimer’s disease(AD) 뇌의 신경섬유 엉킴(neurofibrillary tangles)의 주요 구성 성분이며, 미세소관 안정성을 저하시켜 신경세포 변성을 유도합니다.
Tau의 인산화는 GSK-3β, PKA, cdk5, casein kinase II 등 여러 세린/트레오닌 키나아제에 의해 조절됩니다.
Tau의 변형은 Alzheimer’s disease 외에도 Pick’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, cortico-basal degeneration, progressive supranuclear palsy 등 다양한 신경퇴행성 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
