Recombinant rabbit Superclonal™ antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific.
They combine multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing both the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies and the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, with the consistency of a recombinant format.
Functionally, they recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, offering higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets.
Each lot contains a known mixture of light and heavy chains, eliminating biological variability typically associated with polyclonal antibody production.
Note: Formerly called “Recombinant polyclonal antibody”, now rebranded as “Recombinant Superclonal™ antibody”. The physical product and performance remain unchanged.
Target Information
Troponin proteins associate with tropomyosin and regulate the calcium sensitivity of the myofibril contractile apparatus in striated muscles.
Troponin I (TnI), along with troponin T (TnT) and troponin C (TnC), forms the troponin complex of thin filaments.
TnI serves as the inhibitory subunit, blocking actin-myosin interactions and mediating muscle relaxation.
The TnI subfamily includes three genes:
- TnI-skeletal-fast-twitch
- TnI-skeletal-slow-twitch
- TnI-cardiac
TnI-fast and TnI-slow are expressed in fast- and slow-twitch skeletal muscle fibers, respectively, while TnI-cardiac is expressed exclusively in cardiac muscle tissue.
This gene encodes the Troponin-I-skeletal-slow-twitch protein, expressed in both cardiac and skeletal muscle during early development but restricted to slow-twitch skeletal muscle fibers in adults.
The encoded protein prevents muscle contraction by inhibiting calcium-mediated conformational changes in actin-myosin complexes.
