Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of denaturated HLA-G heavy chain.
HLA-G belongs to the MHC Class I molecules (MHC Class Ib; nonclassical) and is expressed on the surface of trophoblast cells.
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): Incubation for 1 hour at room temperature (RT).


Target Information

HLA-G is part of the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. It forms a heterodimer with beta-2 microglobulin, with the heavy chain anchored in the membrane.
HLA-G is expressed on fetal-derived placental cells. The heavy chain (~45 kDa) gene contains 8 exons:

  • Exon 1: leader peptide
  • Exons 2–3: α1 and α2 domains (peptide-binding)
  • Exon 4: α3 domain
  • Exon 5: transmembrane region
  • Exon 6: cytoplasmic tail

HLA and MHC antibodies are crucial in Immunopeptidomics, aiding neoantigen identification and characterization via LC-MS/MS analysis.
