Target Information
This gene belongs to the C/EBP family. The encoded protein plays a role in cellular response to environmental stimuli through transcriptional regulation involving heat shock factors, conserved DNA elements (HSEs), and CCAAT boxes.
It acts as a DNA-binding transcriptional activator and regulates the HSP70 promoter in a CCAAT-dependent manner.
The protein is involved in cell growth and differentiation, particularly hematopoietic differentiation.
Promoter methylation or gene mutations may be correlated with acute myeloid leukemia (AML).
