The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
The Drosophila atonal gene encodes a protein with basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domains essential for nervous system development. Its mammalian homolog, MATH-1 (also known as Atoh1, Ath1, or HATH-1), is a 351 amino acid HLH transcription factor structurally related to the Drosophila atonal protein. In mice, MATH-1 expression begins around embryonic day 9.5, initially in cranial ganglia and the dorsal central nervous system. Expression later localizes to the external granular layer of the cerebellum by day 18 and becomes undetectable in the adult nervous system. MATH-1 is implicated in neural cell differentiation through activation of E box-dependent transcription.
