Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Calumenin is a 315 amino acid Ca²⁺-binding protein belonging to the CREC, EF-hand family. It is secreted and localized in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and Golgi apparatus. Calumenin contains six Ca²⁺-binding (EF-hand) motifs and interacts with serum amyloid P component (SAP) in the presence of calcium. Together, they may contribute to immune defense and amyloid formation in various tissues. Calumenin also inhibits the vitamin K-dependent γ-carboxylation system and may play roles in thrombosis and wound healing through autocrine or paracrine mechanisms.
