Product Specific Information

This M4G3LN monoclonal antibody recognizes human and mouse Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) and interleukin-2-inducible tyrosine kinase (ITK) when phosphorylated on Y551 and Y511, respectively.
Tec family kinases, including BTK and ITK, are critical in B and T cell receptor signaling and activation of calcium-dependent pathways.
Deficiencies in BTK or ITK result in impaired B or T cell development, leading to immunodeficiency disorders such as X-linked agammaglobulinemia.

Specificity of this clone was validated by ELISA, flow cytometry, and western blotting.

  • Tested by IHC on FFPE human tissue using high pH antigen retrieval

Target Information

Tec family kinases (BTK, ITK, Tec, Rlk) are receptor-proximal kinases essential for activation of phospholipase C and calcium signaling following antigen receptor stimulation.
BTK mediates signaling downstream of LPS-TLR4 in B cells via RP105/CD180.
Mice lacking BTK or ITK show severe defects in lymphocyte signaling, and human BTK mutations cause X-linked agammaglobulinemia and immunodeficiency.
